Your trip starts in Copenhagen, where you fly to Nuuk and land over lunch. From Nuuk Airport, you will be transferred to the lovely Hotel HHE Express for your accommodation. Nuuk is a small yet vibrant Arctic city where modern life meets raw polar nature. With a population of around 19,000, it feels intimate but offers the best infrastructure in Greenland. Surrounded by mountains, fjords, and ice-filled waters, Nuuk offers breathtaking scenery year-round. In winter, everything is snow-covered; in summer, the landscape turns green under the midnight sun.
City Tour of Nuuk by UTV (1 ½ Hrs): Join us for a different kind of city tour in Nuuk, exploring the capital by UTV – a fun and unique way to experience the city. The tour lasts about an hour and a half and takes you past historic sites and characteristic buildings, while the guide shares stories and interesting facts along the way.
We start at the harbour and drive to the southernmost part of the city, where you’ll see places few visitors ever reach. Along the way, we pause to enjoy a Greenlandic fish soup at the café of Inuk Hostels – a cosy spot right by the water with a beautiful fjord view.
It’s a relaxed and engaging tour where you feel both the pulse of the city and the closeness of nature that together make Nuuk such a special place
Boat Trip to Qooqqut – Catch Your own Dinner (6 Hrs): We set out from Nuuk on a scenic boat trip to the renowned Qooqqut Nuan’ Restaurant. But this is no ordinary restaurant visit. Our route takes us through the vast fjord system behind Nuuk – the second largest in the world. In the Qooqqut Fjord, we stop the engine and try our luck fishing for our own meal. Today, no one can complain that the fish isn’t fresh.
Qooqqut lies in a stunning valley surrounded by mountains up to 2,000 metres high. One of Nuuk’s most respected chefs spends the summer here, creating exceptional dishes. Today we’ll enjoy our own freshly caught fish (there’s no guarantee of a catch, but if we don’t succeed, the restaurant has fish ready for us).
A rare sight this far north, trees grow beautifully in the area behind the restaurant – perfect for a short walk and a photo opportunity while the chef prepares your meal.
After dinner, we board the boat again and head back towards Nuuk.
Whale Watching in Nuuk’s Fjord System ( 3 – 4 Hrs): Join us on an unforgettable boat trip through Nuuk’s magnificent fjord system as we search for some of the ocean’s largest and most fascinating creatures – the humpback whales.
Every summer, from June to September, the whales return to Greenlandic waters to feed on krill and small fish. They can often be seen up close, lifting their distinctive tails above the surface or gliding gracefully past the boat. Many visitors describe the experience as almost spiritual – a quiet, awe-inspiring reminder of nature’s power.
The tour lasts 3–4 hours, depending on the type of boat, and we always follow the authorities’ guidelines for responsible whale watching. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience Nuuk’s marine wildlife up close – and perhaps take home a memory you’ll never forget.
Northern Lights by Boat: Seeing the northern lights from the water offers a completely different and unforgettable experience. It’s a natural phenomenon that fascinates us who live in the Arctic.
We depart from Nuuk and head toward Akia, known as the “North Land.” From here, we have a beautiful view of Nuuk’s skyline without any light pollution. We continue into the fjord, where only the boat provides artificial light.
Several times during the tour, we stop, turn off the engine, and enjoy the silence and the starry sky.
As with all natural phenomena, the aurora cannot be guaranteed. We seize the opportunity whenever the skies are clear and dark enough
Boat Tour Around Sermitsiaq – Nuuk’s Iconic Landmark: Join us on a scenic boat trip around Sermitsiaq, the iconic mountain that rises from the sea like a majestic sentinel of Nuuk’s fjord. The mountain sits on an island, and its shape changes dramatically depending on your perspective. Sometimes it is sharp and rugged, and other times smooth and rounded.
In summer, waterfalls cascade down their slopes, adding to the wild beauty of the landscape. In winter, they are just as beautiful, but motionless, as they have turned to ice.
We glide silently through the clear Arctic waters, with the city behind us and nature ahead. We may spot humpback whales, seals, or soaring sea eagles, depending on the season

Enjoy breakfast at Hotel. You have the whole day at your disposal again, and we recommend a visit to the National Museum, located in the old colonial harbor. Here you will find the unique mummies that were found in the Uummannaq area in the 1970s. These mummies are very well-preserved, so it seems as if time has stood still. On Sundays, the National Museum is open free of charge. Check the current opening hours, which may vary with the season
