Malaysia Visa FAQs

  • add Is a visa needed to visit Malaysia?

Yes. To travel to Malaysia, you need to obtain a visa in advance. You can either apply for the visa at the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate using the Visa application centres in your country, or you can obtain the visa electronically (online) with an entry or e-Visa.

  • add What distinguishes the Malaysian E-Visa from the eNTRI?

You are permitted a 15-day stay in Malaysia using the Malaysian eNTRI (Electronic Travel Registration & Information) visa. A single-entry visa, the eNTRI must be used within three months of the day it was issued. You can only use this visa to enter Malaysia from India, Singapore, or Thailand.

You are only permitted to stay in Malaysia for a total of 30 days using the Malaysia e-Visa. The multiple-entry e-Visa must be utilised within three months after the date it was issued. There are no limitations on entry or exit, therefore anyone from any country can enter or leave Malaysia.

  • add Do I need a visa to enter Malaysia from India?

Yes. Prior to travelling to Malaysia, you must apply for and receive a visa.

  • add What is the cost of a Malaysian?

For all Malaysian visas issued to residents of UAE, there is a charge. It's also vital to remember that the processing fee for Malaysian visas is not refundable.

  • add Do UAE nationals need a visa to enter Malaysia?

For citizens of the UAE or the GCC, there is no option to obtain a visa for Malaysia upon arrival. Before visiting Malaysia, citizens of the United Arab Emirates must get a visa for the nation.

Only citizens of select nations, mainly Singapore and Thailand, who are travelling to Malaysia on business are eligible for a Malaysia visa on arrival. The immigration officer in Malaysia, however, has the final say in whether to award a visa on arrival. To minimise last-minute complications, it is generally preferable to obtain a Malaysian visa before departure.

  • add How can I get Malaysia Visa?

Short-term travellers can easily apply for a Malaysian visa online using an eNTRI or e-Visa system, and the Malaysian visas will be sent to them by email. For longer trips, you must use the Visa application centres at the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate.

  • add What are the requirements for a tourist visa to Malaysia?

  • add What is the duration of my Malaysia eVISA's validity?

A person with a valid 3-month Malaysia eVISA is allowed to stay in Malaysia for a total of 30 days during each visit. There is a single usage limit for each application, and extensions are not permitted.

  • add How long does it take for a Malaysia eVisa to be processed?

Once the application is finished and all required supporting documents are submitted, the typical processing time for a Malaysian visa is 3 to 4 business days. However, take notice that processing occasionally may take up to 5–7 business days.

  • add What do I need to do after I have my Malaysia eVISA?

Once your application is accepted, you will receive an email with your Malaysia eVISA. Print one (1) A4-sized copy of the authorised eVISA in either colour or black & white. Malaysia Travel Guide

To understand Malaysia is to love Malaysia Malays, Indians, Chinese, and any other ethnic groups call this state home and you will find no conflict between them as all races and religion embrace each other as fellow human beings in a multi-racial melting pot. Read more

Now you can find several hundreds of colorful festivals in Malaysia due to globalization and multiculturalism, the latter has turned Malaysia into a country for foodies. Interestingly Malaysia, despite the similarities in culture, is as geographically diverse as it comes. The nation is divided into two parts: two states of north Borneo and eleven states of the Malaysian peninsula. It becomes warm, sandy beaches and damp mangroves; Cool spots are found on the hills.

Contrast is one of the factors that make a destination attractive and Malaysia has all that when compared to other countries. Five-star cheap hotels in Malaysia are built many kilometers away from old reefs while tall skyscrapers overlook small wooden houses built on stilts. Malaysia remains the best place for the tour, offering everything that a surprise, different colors of the culture, and striking features of nature have to offer.

Malaysia as a nation is merely highlighted as a melting pot of culture where the best of the world comes to produce the desired holiday destination for everyone. From one of the oldest rainforests in the world and one of the tallest sky bridges; from a beautiful island to some inexplicable caves, it can be said that Malaysia is indeed an interesting place to visit, which is why it is increasingly attracting the attention of travelers seeking unique Malaysia holiday packages . Malaysia corresponds to the south-eastern part of Asia and is located between Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. Borneo is a very big island located in South-East Asia, and it is occupied by Brunei and Indonesia while it is a neighbor to the Philippines on the northern side. Thus, Malaysia has gradually become popular among tourists over the last few years. This is partially due to positive promotion from the government and informational sites like this one, but it is equally because it is becoming financially reasonable to travel by air to other global regions. Malaysia is a perfect place for any type of tourist, offering a wide range of Malaysia holiday packages. It is attended by backpackers, groups, couples, and even families with young kids individually. Moreover, one can note that in Malaysia, new locations are sometimes discovered, and existing ones are constantly changed or rebuilt, making Malaysia holidays even more exciting and diverse.

When it comes to accommodation, budget-wise it is relatively cheaper compared to the neighboring countries; even after a recent increase on the prices, they remain cheap.

    Places to visit in Malaysia

This capital city of Malaysia; Kuala Lumpur is believed to have some of the prominent and popular touring destinations in Southeast Asian region. From monkeys climbing trees, and malls with roller coasters, to the Petronas Twin Towers as the most visited icon, it holds them. The previously mentioned highest sky bridge in the world is connecting these two giant similar structures. It is simply fabulous to watch towers standing from the bridge that connects the towers. Read more

The twin towers have still retained the title of being the tallest buildings in the world even for the full 6 years, from 1998 to 2004. Here's an amazing fact: Two of the buildings were constructed one by a Japanese firm and the other by a Korean firm. It was like racing against the clock and towers were under construction. Samsung Engineering and Construction, a South Korea based company emerged victorious in the bid to construct the spire and took the spire to the top of the East tower one morning in 1996 without anyone’s knowledge. Food stalls are the specialty in Malaysia and one cannot afford to miss the street cuisine while in the country. When it comes to the taste and variety of street food in Malaysia, nothing can beat the Malaysian street food though its fame is not as great as its taste. The street vendors serve the most delicious Chinese, Indian, Thai, and local Malaysian food. The underappreciated pearl of the Malaysian food scene are the street vendors, who will sell you a meal to sustain you for a few ringgits. It is a known fact that Penang has the best cuisine in the whole South Asian peninsula.

Malaysia is one of the countries of the world that is multicultural with a lot of history. Therefore, the country’s tourism industry is quite rich and provides opportunities for tourists of different interests.

    Other Malaysia Visa types

We currently only process Tourist and Business Visas. Kindly contact the Embassy for the following visa applications.

    1. Single Entry Malaysia Visa:

The Single Entry Malaysia Visa online is the common type of Malaysia Visa granted to visitors who travel to Malaysia for tourism and other social purposes. These are the types of Malaysia visas which are issued for 3 months from the date of issue and these are issued for the purpose of temporary visit by the foreign nationals.

    2. Multiple Entry Malaysia Visa:

Multiple entry Malaysia visa that is required for people who have regular business in Malaysia and they have to travel to Malaysia several times in a year. This type of Malaysia visa is issued for a minimum of 3 months and at most 12 months from the date of issue. Every entry in that issue's time can only be as long as 30 days. This is to inform you that the extension of stay is prohibited.

    3. Transit Malaysia Visa:

Transit Malaysia visa that is given to foreign nationals who are just in transit to other countries through Malaysia for instance when one has a connecting flight to another country via Malaysia. This however, is only required when the foreign national needs to exit the premises of the airport. A transit Malaysia Visa is not necessary for those who will not leave the airport and those who will be proceeding to the next flight.

    4. Transit without Visa (TWOV)

As for the foreign entities, a TVOW is valid upon arrival in Malaysia, and the permitted duration of stay in the country does not exceed 120 hours. TWOV is a bit difficult to get also. There are times that even the applicant meets all these requirements the decision to grant him the permit or not lies on the discretion of the Malaysian Immigration only.
