Gulf Air is Bahrain's state-owned airline and the country's flag carrier. The airline, which is based in Muharraq, flies to 55 destinations in 30 countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe. Bahrain International Airport serves as its primary hub. The Bahrain Grand Prix and Bahrain International Airshow are sponsored by Gulf Air, which has liveries on some of its aircraft.
Gulf Air is a state-owned airline. The Gulf Air Group Holding Company, which owns the aviation assets of Bahrain Mumtalakat, the government of Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund, is the airline's sole stakeholder.
The Gulf Air Group is also the sole stakeholder of the Bahrain Airport Company and Gulf Aviation Academy, as well as holding shares in Bahrain Airport Services, Bahrain Duty Free Company, and Gulf Handling Company in the aviation sector.
As of December 2020, the Gulf Air fleet consists of 11 Airbus A320-200, 6 Airbus A320neo, 6 Airbus A321-200, 4 Airbus A321LR and 7 Boeing 787-9.

Baggage allowance will depend on your ticket fare family, Falcon flyer membership and final destination.
Falcon Gold passengers can enjoy a generous allowance of two checked-in baggage at 32kg each. All Falcon flyer members’ Falcon Gold redemption tickets will also enjoy two checked-in baggage at 32kg each.
Passengers who buy Economy Smart and Economy Flex Boutique Fares will receive a two-checked-in baggage allowance of 23kg each. Redeeming tickets in Economy class for Falcon flyer members will include two checked bags weighing 23kg each.
Economy Light Boutique Fare allows passengers to check one piece of luggage weighing 23kg.
On Gulf Air-operated flights, children aged 2 and above receive the same checked baggage allowance as adults, as well as a child's foldable stroller/pushchair and a child's car seat.
Infants under the age of two years are given a special allowance of one piece of checked baggage of 15 KGs, as well as a folding stroller/pushchair and an infant car seat. Infants are also entitled to one piece of cabin luggage with a total weight of 3 kg (maximum dimensions 44 x 35 x 20 cm or 17 x 13 x 7 inches).

Passengers traveling in any class from Bahrain to any Gulf Air destination (excluding London) have the added convenience of being able to check-in with their luggage up to 24 hours ahead to departure. Baggage is accepted between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 14:00 p.m. local time. Passengers will be given boarding permits after going through the normal passenger and baggage check-in processes. Passengers must return to the airport one hour before their flight's departure time and proceed immediately to the departure gate.
Falcon Gold clients, as well as Gold and Silver Falcon flyer members, have their own check-in areas at Gulf Air.
The check-in lounge has been built to provide a relaxing environment for passengers before moving to the neighboring dedicated immigration and security sections, ensuring a smooth journey through the lounges.
