  • add On arrival into Qatar, what documents do I need to present?

    At entry, you must show that you have a valid hotel booking, confirmed return tickets and sufficient cash in addition to your valid passport and e-Visa.

  • add What are the advantages of applying for a Qatar e-Visa?
    • Minimum document requirement;
    • Swift processing-subject to qualifying the eligibility criteria and meeting the documents requirement, your visa can be processed within 3 working days;
    • Convenient and cost effective i.e. most economical visa fee/charges;
    • Electronic visa can be sent anywhere in the world through Email.
  • add How long does it take to get a visa?

    Provided all required documents are submitted correctly, visas are normally issued within 6 working days of your application.

  • add Will I definitely get a visa if I apply online? If I get a visa, am I guaranteed entry in Qatar?

    The decision to grant entry visas for Qatar is entirely at the discretion of the country’s immigration authorities. The granting of a visa does not guarantee entry in Qatar, the final decision is made by immigration officers at the point of entry.

  • add Do I have to submit my passport for stamping before I travel?

    No, you will receive an electronic visa, which does not require anything to be stamped on your passport ahead of travel. All visa copies are sent by email. You should print a copy of your e-visa and carry it with you when you travel to Qatar.

  • add What are the passport requirements for applying for a Qatar e-Visa?

    The Applicant’s passport should be valid for atleast 6 months with minimum 2 blank pages from the date of entry into Qatar.

  • add What is OK to Board (OTB) and why is it needed?

    Due to an expansion in fake visas to Qatar, many Indian passengers were deported back in the past. In order to control the fake visa issuance and any fraudulent activities; airlines and sponsors double check the Qatar Visa and Air tickets before departure and only after checking the visa authenticity, airlines update visa message in the respective PNR.

  • add What is the time taken to get the OTB?

    The Airline verifies the Qatar Visa and only then updates an Ok to Board message against the PNR. Airlines generally will take at least 24-48 working hours to update PNR after issuance of the Qatar VISA.

  • add What is the main purpose behind updating the OTB?

    Your airline mandates you to update OTB message in the PNR primarily to confirm the legitimacy of your Qatar Visa as well as other relevant travel documents, thereby eliminating the chances of travellers making entry to the country with a forged visa and subsequently getting deported by the Qatar immigration.

  • add What if my OTB status is not updated?

    In such circumstances, your airline has the complete right to disapprove your boarding. To resolve this issue at the earliest, do not delay getting in touch with our Qatar Visa Experts.

  • add Why was my visa application rejected?

    Unfortunately, the Qatar Immigration authorities do not give reasons for rejecting visa applications, so we cannot provide specific reasons why your application was unsuccessful.

  • add If my visa application is rejected, can I apply again?

    Yes, you can reapply if your visa application is rejected.

  • add Do I need to take a health/travel insurance?

    You are strongly advised to purchase a health / travel insurance to cover yourself in Qatar as medical treatment can be very expensive in Qatar. Your travel insurance offers protection against unexpected emergencies on international travel such as coverage of medical expenses, flight delay and cancellations, passport and baggage loss or personal accident.  For financial safety and security on your international trip we highly recommend you to purchase travel insurance and avail our special offer.

Qatar travel guide

A tiny peninsula jutting out into the Persian Gulf from the eastern side of Saudi Arabia, Qatar is a sovereign Arab country located in the Middle East. Read more

Situated on the northern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, Qatar shares land borders only with Saudi Arabia, with the rest of the country being surrounded by the Persian Gulf. From magnificent shopping malls to universities to plush Qatari hotels and futuristic buildings, Qatar has plenty to offer to its visitors. Doha is the capital and the largest city of Qatar. Doha is certainly the heart and soul of Qatar. No other city in the country comes close to its gleaming splendour. The Corniche in Doha is the center of Doha’s entertainment district. The Doha Zoo, Cultural Village, shopping malls, and its amazing museums (like the National Museum and Museum of Islamic Arts) make up most of the attractions in the city. Outside of Doha, the desert area provides a spectacular landscape for safaris, which have become an important part of the country’s tourism industry. Of course, no trip to Qatar is complete without experience a local souq. Souq Waqif is a magnificent destination, where tourists can try their hand at bargaining. Show less

Other Qatar Visa types

We currently only process Tourist and Business Visas. Kindly contact the Embassy for the following Qatar visa applications.

1. Qatar Transit Visa

A special category of the tourist visa is the Transit visa issued to persons who want to want to travel to another Country through the country.

2. Qatar Student Visa

The Student visa is a temporary visa issued to persons who want to run an academic program in the country. The visa is valid until the course duration elapses. Applicants for this category of visa must have already received provisional admission prior to their student visa application. Also, a letter from the academic institution is the proof that the applicant can apply for the visa.

3. Qatar Work Visa

The work visas are granted to persons who want to work in Qatar. Like the student visa, the applicants for the work visa must already have secured a job in the country before being eligible to apply.

Applicant’s employer would need to apply for a NOC Certificate. Without this certificate, entry into Qatar would be disallowed.

Applicants, on getting into the country must apply for a residence visa. On arrival, using a single-entry visa, the applicant needs to apply for a residency visa and according to the employer’s specification, undergo some certain medical tests including HIV and TB.

4. Qatar Family Visa

The family visa differs from the visit visa. It issued to persons who have a family in Qatar. The family visa does not expire as long as the sponsor is still living in the country and can still sponsor the applicant. The sponsor would need to apply for a residence permit for the coming family member(s).
