Arrive during the dry season between December and April as this is when travellers can enjoy the lively holiday periods of Christmas, New Year and the Holy Week. The conditions during this spell are ideal to explore the country. Beware that flights and hotels in popular tourist spots are at a premium. To escape such prices, travel during the wet spell which stretches from May to December. However, it is advisable not to as the heavy rainfall is a cause to landslides and flooded beaches.
  • Panama welcomes over 1.5 million tourists annually and for the most part, it is absolutely safe. Pickpocketing is becoming a common occurrence on the streets and it is recommended that you go prepared and are alert. Other than that, there is nothing to worry about. Grasp a few words in Spanish before arriving; being the national language, it is spoken widely. Although, some Panama nationals are bi-lingual, speaking both Spanish and English with equal ease.

Inside this quarter, visit the San Jose Church, its stunning architecture will leave you in awe.
