On 11th July 2025, the World Heritage Committee declared 12 Maratha forts as a World Heritage Site. Built by Hiroji Indulkar, the chief engineer of the Maratha Empire, Raigad is the Capital fort of the independent Maratha Empire, also known as Swarajya. 11. Khanderi Fort
