Asia has topped the charts yet again, with Singapore stealing the first rank on the Henley Passport Index 2025, providing visa-free access to 193 countries! Following it closely at the second rank are Japan and South Korea, a step behind with access to 190 countries. Among the top 10 strongest passport in the world 2025 are also:
- 3rd Rank (189 visa-free countries): Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Spain, Ireland, and Italy.
- 4th Rank (188 visa-free countries): Austria, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, and Portugal.
- 5th Rank (187 visa-free countries): New Zealand, Greece, and Switzerland.
- 6th Rank (186 visa-free countries): UK
- 7th Rank (185 visa-free countries): Australia, Hungary, Malta, Czechia, and Poland.
- 8th Rank (184 visa-free countries): UAE, Estonia, and Canada
- 9th Rank (183 visa-free countries): Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, and Latvia.
- 10th Rank (182 visa-free countries): US, Iceland, and Lithuania.
Pakistan has also shot up, arriving at 96th on the list. The weakest remains Afghanistan, at the 99th rank, offering visa-free access to 25 countries.

UK & US Falling Behind

Among the world’s most powerful passport rankings (2025), it’s surprising not to see the UK and US mentioned, even though India passport rank has skyrocketed. Grabbing the title of the most powerful in 2014 and 2015, respectively, the UK is now at the 6th rank, offering visa-free access to 186 countries, while the US is at the 10th rank, with visa-free access to 182 destinations.
The drop mainly has to do with the country’s internal affairs and their relationships and influence among other nations, as stated by CEO Dr Juerg Steffen. The US is at the edge of exiting the Henry Passport Index 2025 top 10 countries.
