However, depending on your purpose of visit and duration of trip you can also apply for a Multiple entry visa. The final decision to grant the entry type will depend upon the Dubai Immigration.

  • add What is the relationship between the validity of a Dubai Visa, number of entries and duration of stay?
    • Validity of a Dubai Visa refers to the period within which the visa holder is allowed to enter Dubai.
    • The number of entries refers to the number of times the visa holder is permitted to enter Dubai within the visa’s validity.
    • Duration of stay refers to the longest period the visa holder is allowed to stay in Dubai on each visit, and this is counted from the day following entry into Dubai.
    • When all the permitted entries are used up, the visa will no longer be valid. Even if there are unused entries, the visa will no longer be valid if the validity has already expired. In either case, the visa holder should apply for a new visa if another visit to Dubai is planned.
      • The holder of a visa is eligible to enter Dubai at any time prior to the expiry of its validity provided that permitted entries on the visa have not been used up; the holder’s planned duration of stay in Dubai must not exceed the duration stated on the visa.

  • add What happens If I overstay the Dubai Visa?

You will be liable to pay a heavy penalty for overstaying the Dubai visa.

  • add What is OK to Board (OTB)?

Ok to Board is a verification procedure undertaken by the airline to check the authenticity of your UAE visa. OTB is a message entered in the airline’s reservation system against your PNR number. It means that your paper-based visa (one that is not stamped in the passport) has been inspected and validated, and that airline check-in staff can issue you a boarding pass and allow you to board the flight.

  • add Why is OK to Board required?

Typically, if an airline lets a passenger without a valid visa and OTB to board a flight, they will be fined by the authorities in UAE, and will also be made to bear the cost of repatriating the offender. To combat this, airline check-in staff ensures that the passenger has a valid passport and visa prior to issuing a boarding pass.

  • add Is Ok to Board mandatory?

Due to an increase in fake visas to UAE, many Indian passengers were deported back to India in the past. To minimize the fake visa issues, airlines flying to UAE re-check the applicant’s Dubai visa and the return airline ticket before the departure to UAE.

  • add What happens if the OTB status is not updated?

The Airline will not allow you to board the flight. You may also not get any refund for your flight ticket.

  • add Can my Dubai Visa get rejected?

Yes. Like other country visas, your visa application for Dubai can be rejected for a number of reasons. The most common Dubai visa rejections are:
    Errors in the Visa Application
    Blurred Photograph
    Criminal Record (past or current)
    Prior Employment Visa
    Previous Dubai Visa unused
    Profession in the Passport
    Single Lady Traveller/p>

  • add How can I avoid a Dubai Visa Rejection?

There may be other factors that could result in a Dubai visa refusal, but many fall within the parameters of the above mentioned. If you want to have any hope of getting that refusal overturned, or a second application approved, here are some of the things that you can do to avoid rejection:

    • Make sure your passport has at least 6 months validity while applying for Dubai visa online.
    • Ensure that all the fields are filled correctly. Avoid any kind of factual or spelling mistakes.
    • Dubai visa photo size should be as per the Dubai Immigration requirement.
    • All the documents that you submit should be valid.
    • Make sure that your previous visa is not valid before applying for a new Dubai visa.

The final decision about approval and rejection of your Dubai visa rests with the Dubai Immigration. If you are unsure about the visa application process, it would be best to rely on a travel agent to do the needful. They are professionals who have the right training and knowledge to guide you correctly.

Dubai travel guide

When you think of Dubai and all you can imagine is the gold, grandeur and glamour. Dubai is located in the United Arab Emirates and has emerged to be one of the most popular and expensive cities in the world. Read more

Today, Dubai is all about glitzy malls, towering skyscrapers and superhighways. About 50 years ago it used to be a fishing village. Then they struck oil, and as they say, rest is history! Dubai is a melting pot of cultures, and while it has embraced the modern and the futuristic approach, it hasn’t forgotten its roots. Al-Fahidi, the oldest part of the city is well preserved and is a reminder of the olden days. Dubai is a playground of sorts, from palm-shaped islands to the energetic, tall buildings, from the super-fast hyper-loop to flying taxis; Dubai is more than just an ambitious city. It is the city of dreams which is fearlessly in love with its futuristic vision and in complete control and charge of writing its own narrative.

Dubai is located on the Eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, in the south west corner of the Arabian Gulf. It is extremely well known for its warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage, and the Emirati people are welcoming and generous in their approach to visitors. With year-round sunshine, intriguing deserts, beautiful beaches, luxurious hotels and shopping malls, fascinating heritage attractions and a thriving business community, Dubai receives millions of leisure and business visitors each year from around the world.

More than 125 airlines fly to Dubai from destinations around the world, and a first-rate network of highways connect Dubai and neighbouring GCC countries. Whether travelling by car or bus, a modern network of first-className roads and highways link the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates.

Places to visit

Dubai is a haven for shoppers. Shopping is an activity that every tourist pursues while in Dubai. The extravagant malls, world’s top brands will lure you into shopping. While there are modern malls to keep you busy, the traditional souks are no less. The glitz, glamour and riches are a part and parcel of this metropolis.

While in Dubai strike a pose in front of the Burj Khalifa, or soak in awe as you view the city’s skyline and watch the bird’s eye view, wet your toes at the Jumeirah beach or watch the Dubai Fountains. Watch the marine life at the Dubai Aquarium or shop till you drop at the Dubai Mall. The Dubai shopping festival held twice a year is a delight for shoppers across the world. Take a peek into the past at the Dubai museum which is housed in the Al- Fahidi Fort. The museum shows the Dubai before and after the oil boom.

Take a cruise on a Dhow across the Dubai Creek or take a break from the malls and shop at the traditional souks at Deira. Bring the child out in you at the IMG Worlds of Adventure. Dubai has some interesting nightlife too. Don’t forget to take a slice of that as well.

Dubai is a fun city to visit and getting a Visa is very simple if you have all the necessary documents. Dubai gives a Visa on Arrival to citizens of a few countries. Indians can also avail a Visa on arrival. All passports should be valid for more than six (6) months.
