Air Mauritius Baggage Allowance

The most important Air Mauritius flight information you must know about is the baggage allowance to ensure it meets your expectations to avoid last-minute confusion. Depending on your boarding location and destination, you must follow a weight or piece allowance policy. Let’s explore the baggage allowance in detail to know more:

Cabin Baggage

Economy Class: One bag weighing up to 7 kg.

Economy between Mauritius and Rodrigues: One bag weighing up to 5 kg

Business Class: Two bags weighing up to 7 kg each.

The dimensions of every baggage must not exceed 115 cm. Passengers flying by any of the classes can also carry a laptop bag, camera, walking stick, umbrella, baby basket, blanket, etc, to ensure a comfortable flying experience. The cabin bags must be stored in the overhead cabins or under the seat in front of you. Passengers are also entitled to an additional luggage allowance of 5 kg per person for the minimal cost of EUR 10 per kg. If you’re flying by the codeshare flights, you must follow their baggage policy.

Check-in Baggage

Passengers flying in the Economy class from Mauritius to Asia, London, Geneva, Cape Town, or Oceania can check in two bags weighing up to 23 kg each. If you’re flying back to Mauritius, Europe, or Paris from Asia, you can check in one bag weighing up to 23 kg. Passengers flying in the Business Class to and from Mauritius and Asia to any destination are allowed a check-in baggage allowance of 2 bags weighing 32 kg each. This allowance does not apply when flying from Mauritius to Reunion and Rodrigues Islands in the Business Class. Infants younger than 2 years can check in one piece of luggage in the Economy or Business class, except when flying between Mauritius and Rodrigues, where the allowance is 5 kg.

The weight of a single baggage must not exceed 32 kg. In case the baggage exceeds the allowance or the dimension size of 158 cm, you must pay an additional fee to get it checked in. If you’re flying to transatlantic destinations, you must follow the baggage policy of the Transatlantic airlines. When switching to any other airline, the baggage policies will also change, so make sure to check the difference and pack accordingly.
