Aer Lingus Baggage Allowance

The most important Aer Lingus flight information you must know about is the baggage allowance to ensure it meets your expectations so you can avoid last-minute disappointments. The weight and piece allowance of your checked and hand baggage depends on your destination and travel class. Let’s look at the baggage allowance in depth:

Cabin Baggage

Besides passengers flying under the Savers fare, all others get a complimentary checked baggage allowance. Passengers travelling by Economy class within Europe can choose between carrying one bag of 20 or 25 kg or two bags weighing up to 40 kg, together. Passengers flying to the Transatlantic regions can access a baggage allowance of one bag weighing up to 20, 25, or 30 kg. Passengers flying by business class to the Transatlantic region are entitled to a baggage allowance of three checked bags with a combined weight not exceeding 69 kg. Every bag must not exceed the weight limit of 32 kg and dimensions of 158 cm.

The Economy Savers baggage allowance fee is calculated as per the destination and your booking location. Passengers booking online are charged a fee between EUR 25 and 80, whereas those checking baggage in at the Airport must pay by weight. Passengers flying with infants younger than 2 years to the Transatlantic regions can get an additional allowance of 10 kg and can carry a collapsable stroller, car seat, or travel cot for free.

Check-in Baggage

Passengers flying within Europe are allowed a cabin baggage allowance of 10 kg regardless of the travel class, only if your booking allows it. This baggage can be stored in the overhead cabin or under the seat in front of you. If the booking does not mention cabin baggage allowance, you must pay a fee of €9.99 to carry your baggage in the cabin. Otherwise, you can deposit this baggage for free at the check-in desk. If your ticket does not mention a baggage allowance and you don’t pre-book online, you’ll have to pay a fee of €35 to store it with other checked luggage. All passengers can carry a small laptop bag or handbag on the flight.

Passengers flying aboard regional flights are allowed a baggage allowance of up to 7 kg, with dimensions not exceeding 48x33x20 cm, that can be stored in the cabin overhead. On transatlantic flights, passengers get a complimentary cabin baggage allowance of 10 kg and a 7 kg allowance if their flight connects to a regional one.
