Passport Renewal Application Process

The first step to initiate the renewal process is to start by creating an account on Passport Seva’s official website by following these steps:

  1. Visit the Passport Seva Website. If you are a new user, select ‘New User Registration’ or if you already have an account login visa ‘Existing User Login’. 
  2. Select ‘Passport Office’ and select your respective passport office, based on your residential address. 
  3. Enter personal details like name, email address, etc. to create a login ID and password. 
  4. Click on ‘Register’ to get an activation link in your email. Click on the link to activate your account. 

Once your account is created, you can start a new passport application or e-passport renewal. 

Here is how you can initiate e-passport renewal in India:

  1. Log into the official Passport Seva website with your credentials. 
  2. Click on ‘Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport.’ Choose re-issue of passport and select your passport-type details. Click ‘Next’. 
  3. You will be directed to the passport renewal form online. Complete filling out the form with relevant details like address, contact information, etc. 
  4. Completely fill out the form and click on ‘Validate’. 
  5. You will get a chance to verify the details. Double check if all details are accurate, upload the form and submit it. 

Once you have submitted the application, you will now have to schedule your passport renewal appointment with these steps:

  1. Log back into your account on the Passport Seva Website and go into ‘View Saved and Submitted Application’. 
  2. Click on the ‘Pay and Schedule Appointment’ option to pay your passport renewal cost and schedule your appointment for the nearest available date. 
  3. Choose your convenient slot for appointment and pay the passport renewal price, depending on your passport type. One can make online payment with one of the following methods:
  • SBI Bank Challan
  • Credit or Debit Card (Only Visa and MasterCard are acceptable)
