Day 2

| Istanbul

This Full Day Tour of Istanbul provides the perfect introduction to the fabled city that spans Asia and Europe. On this one day sightseeing tour you will see how old meets new when you visit Istanbul’s four “must-see” historic sites. We will pick you up from the hotel (city center hotels). Then you will meet with your guide at the meeting point. We will visit Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia Museum, Blue Mosque, Grand Covered Bazaar, Topkapi Palace, Sultan Tombs. Our journey begins in Sultanahmet, the heart of the Old City of Constantinople, at the famous Hagia Sophia. Built by Emperor Justinian more than 1,500 years ago, it was originally a church, was converted to a mosque during the Ottoman period.
Across from the Hagia Sophia is another very famous site, the Sultan Ahmet Mosque, more commonly known as the Blue Mosque because of its beautiful blue Iznik tiles. It is said that the Sultan told the architect to use gold, in Turkish "altin", but the architect thought he said six, in Turkish "alti". This is just one of the stories explaining why the mosque has six minarets. Next, we'll head to the Grand Bazaar which is a short walk away. It's one of the oldest covered bazaars in the world with nearly 3,600 shops selling quality leather products, gold, jewellery, authentic Turkish delight, handmade carpets, antiques and more. After lunch, we will visit Topkapi Palace which was the residence of the Ottoman Sultans and their families, as well as the headquarters of the Ottoman Empire, for more than 400 years. There are many interesting things to see including the imperial treasury, sacred Islamic relics of Prophet Mohammed, a Chinese porcelain collection, weapons and more. Please note that live commentary from your guide is not permitted in some areas of the palace.

Next, we will take a cruise through the Bosphorus, also known as Istanbul Strait, which is the only passage between the Mediterranean and the Black seas. It also marks the dividing line between Europe and Asia. After tour, transfer to Istanbul or Sabiha Gokcen Airport for your flight (on own) to Kayseri. Day 5

| Cappadocia

Breakfast at the Hotel. The South Cappadocia Tour (Green Tour) is a highlight of peoples visit to the Cappadocia region. Some of the important sightseeing which we will visit are Rose Valley, Red Valley, Cavusin Valley, Underground City, Pigeon Valley, Uchisar Castle Panorama & Love Valley. No visit to Cappadocia would be complete without a visit to the Rose Valley, with its beautiful rock formations and hidden churches carved from rock. The isolated valley is located behind Urgup. Countless tracks connect small villages and towns through vineyards and gardens, stretching like a spider web. You may even see villagers working in the area, offering grapes, apples or apricots. We will then explore Cavusin Village, one of the oldest villages in the region, known for its cave houses that stretch like labyrinth of ruins, chiselled into the rock face. The village is also home to the Church of John the Baptist, the biggest cave church in all of Cappadocia, which dates back to the fifth century. We then proceed to Underground City. Of the 36 underground cities built by the Christians to escape persecution, the one we visit is the widest and most famous. No tour of Cappadocia would be complete without a visit here. On the outskirts of Goreme, we will stop and take in the views down to Pigeon Valley, named for the ancient pigeon houses carved into the cliff faces over centuries. Long ago, farmers throughout the region used pigeon manure as a rich source of fertilizer for their crops. Our final stop is in the troglodyte town of Uchisar, situated in the heart of Cappadocia. Uchisar Castle is named after the enormous rock standing in the center of town that once served as its castle. It is the highest peak in the area, offering unbelievable views across Cappadocia and Erciyes Mountain. Return to Hotel & Enjoy Local Dinner at Hotel Restaurant.
