AlUla is one of the very few places in the world where one can experience the feeling of a true explorer charting the unknown. AlUla was historically located on the Incense route. It was the capital of the ancient Lihyanites (Dedanites) and is well known for archaeological remnants, some over 2000 years old. Later in the evening we proceed to Alula Old Town. Get a glimpse into AlUla’s not-so-distant past on AlUla Old Town Tour. A Rawi (guide) will lead you through AlUla Old Town, where pilgrims, travellers and permanent settlers congregated through the ages. Inhabited from before the 12th century up until the early 1980s, AlUla Old Town offers researchers unique oral histories and living memory that the area’s other heritage sites cannot. Al Jadidah is AlUla’s new cultural and creative hub. This district is dedicated to promoting contemporary art and cultural experiences, blending the old with the new in a vibrant way. Home to more than 110 tombs carved from giant rock formations, this ancient site is open for visitors to explore and learn about the culture, traditions, and history of its people. After this visit organized in collaboration with the Royal commission of AlUla, we will go for lunch in the city. In the afternoon, we will participate in visiting the site of Dadan & Jabal Ikmah, famous also for their heritage, before we end up for sunset to discover the Elephant rock.
