About SpiceJet Airlines
SpiceJet is a low-cost airline based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. As of March 2019, it was the country’s second-largest airline by number of domestic passengers carried, with a market share of 13.6 percent. From its hubs in Delhi and Hyderabad, the airline offers 630 daily flights to 64 destinations, including 54 Indian and 15 international destinations.
In 1994, the firm was founded as ModiLuft, an air taxi service, but in 2004 it was purchased by Indian entrepreneur Ajay Singh and renamed SpiceJet. In May 2005, the airline flew its inaugural trip. In June 2010, Indian media mogul Kalanidhi Maran purchased a majority stake in SpiceJet through Sun Group, which he later sold to Ajay Singh in January 2015. The airline’s fleet consists of Boeing 737 and Bombardier Dash 8 planes.
SpiceJet was granted international flights by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation on September 7, 2010, after completing five years of flying. SpiceJet began flying from Delhi to Kathmandu and Chennai to Colombo, with the first international flight departing from Delhi on October 7, 2010.

On domestic flights, SpiceJet provides all passengers with a 15kg piece of complimentary checked luggage. On international itineraries, baggage allowances range from 20 to 30 kg, depending on the itinerary.

On Boeing aircraft, SpiceJet permits customers to bring up to 7kg of hand luggage with a maximum overall dimension of 115cm (108cm on Q400 flights). Passengers traveling with infants are permitted to bring an additional 7kg of hand luggage.

SpiceJet Forbidden Items
Guests are not allowed to carry liquids, creams or gels that are more than 100ml in volume as part of their carry-on luggage. Knives, sharp objects, compressed gases, corrosives, dry cell batteries, flammable liquids, poisons, toy ammunition, weapons, electronic devices which cannot be switched off, aerosols, personal motorized vehicles such as hover boards and other items that are considered to be a security hazard are not allowed in the cabin.
SpiceJet Check-in Information
It is mandatory for all passengers to check-in online at least 60 min before the scheduled departure of their domestic flight. This is as per the government directives issued for COVID-19 situation. For assistance with check-in or reissuance of boarding pass at the airport or through Reservations, a facilitation fee of INR 200 per passenger will be charged.
