On February 5th, 2008, the airline launched daily flights to Moscow. The president of the Republic of Tajikistan and other senior officials fly on Somon Air as their official airline. Since its founding, Somon Air has placed a strong emphasis on providing passenger service and international travel, particularly to Eastern Europe. The majority of flights to foreign locations originate in Dushanbe.

Somon Air joined IATA’s (International Air Transport Association) IATA Billing and Settlement Plan at the beginning of August 2009. Tatyana Afenteva, the sole female pilot with Somon Air, made her first solo flight on June 18, 2021. As a co-pilot on a routine trip on the Dushanbe-Tashkent-Dushanbe route, Tatyana completed the flight safely.
The first of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft, each with 189 economy class seats, was delivered to Somon Air on August 30, 2022. The aircraft was obtained on an operating lease from ACG, one of the biggest leasing businesses with US headquarters. The second Boeing 737-800 aircraft was delivered to the airline on September 8, 2022, under an operating lease from the ACG firm.

Somon Air Cabin Classes
Economy Class
Somon Air passengers are assigned seats with appropriate legroom in Economy Class; those who require additional legroom can upgrade to bulkhead or exit row seats.
Business Class
The seats on Somon Air’s Business Class are shown in a 2-2 layout. For enhanced comfort, the seats are cushioned and recline. Additionally, a footstool and an armrest are offered while flying Business Class with Somon Air.
Somon Air Baggage Allowance
Checked Baggage
The standard baggage allowance for Somon Air flights is 20 kg for economy class and 30 kg for business class. Children under the age of two who travel without a separate seat are not eligible for free luggage. Excess baggage charges apply to any checked baggage that is heavier than allowed for Simon Air flights.
Your baggage allowance is enhanced when going to specific places. Therefore, while purchasing a Somon Air airline ticket, we suggest that you carefully study the baggage allowance. The amount of checked baggage you are allowed depends on where you are flying to/from.
Carry-on Baggage
Only one piece of carry-on luggage, measuring 55 x 40 x 20 cm and weighing no more than 7kg for economy class and 10kg for business class, may be brought on board by each passenger.
You must be able to fit your carry-on luggage in the overhead bins or beneath the seat in front of you. Please be careful not to bring any forbidden goods, such as liquids larger than 100 ml, in your carry-on luggage. Any illegal things discovered at airport security will be taken out and thrown away.
