Lucknow is the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, as well as the administrative center of the district and division of the same name. It is located in the city’s Amausi neighborhood and was previously known as Amausi Airport. In 2008, it was renamed after India’s fifth Prime Minister, Chaudhary Charan Singh.

 

There are two operational terminals and one under construction at the airport. The original terminal, intended to complement the style of Charbagh Railway Station. It has two immigration desks, two arrival gates, and three departure gates. After the completion of Terminal 2 in 2012, it is now used for foreign flights. The initial plan for Terminal 2 was for it to be used as an international terminal. However, due to increased domestic traffic, it was designated as the domestic terminal, with Terminal 1 serving as the international terminal.
