About Jeddah

Jedda, often called Jiddah or Jidda, is a city in Saudi Arabia’s Hejaz area and the country’s commercial center. Jeddah is the largest city in Makkah Province, the largest city in Hejaz, the second-largest city in Saudi Arabia (after the capital Riyadh), and the tenth-largest city in the Middle East, with a population of over 4,697,000 people as of 2021. Jeddah Islamic Port, located on the Red Sea, is the world’s 36th largest seaport and the Middle East’s second-largest and busiest port (after Dubai’s Port of Jebel Ali).

Jeddah is a major tourist destination in Saudi Arabia and has been designated as a Beta world city by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network (GaWC). The city is largely regarded as Saudi Arabia’s most liberal, and it is a major tourist destination in the region.
