Kerala is now the only\nstate in India to boast of having 4 international airports, the latest addition\nbeing Kannur International Airport, which was commissioned on 9th<\/sup>\nDecember 2018. The airport is situated at Mattannur, 25 kilometers from Kannur,\nwhich is a beautiful city located in the northern part of Kerala.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kannur International\nAirport (KIAL), the second Greenfield airport set up in the public-private\npartnership (PPP) model in Kerala spans an area of about 2,300 acres. This\nstate of the art airport is equipped with one of the most modern facilities,\nwhich is unique of its kind the \u201cSwing Facility\u201d, which means the terminal\ncould be either operated as a domestic\/international terminal or both, because\nof the presence of sliding glass partitions in between. The terminal also has\nself-check-in counters and self-baggage dropping machines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
