Bakuriani is situated on the northern slopes of the Trialeti Range, 1,700-2,000 m above sea level. The town is surrounded by coniferous forests. By the way, this ancient landscape was formed by the flow of lava from the Mukheri Volcano. The highest peak of this mountain range is 2,225 m high. Due to its long history, Bakuriani is considered to be one of Georgia’s most important winter sports centres. Many athletes from Georgia and the rest of the world come here to hone their professional skills, although the resort is also excellent for families with children, as well as those new to skiing.
